My name is Waceke and I’m a professional Kenyan-American voice actor located in North Carolina.
My voice carries the excitement, inflections and mysteries of our global society delivering English audio with varied accents upon request from international to British and American.
I have a powerful, versatile voice with a wide vocal range – serious and straightforward to lighthearted and fun; soft and gentle, to enthusiastic and energetic.
My voice is described as having gravitas, intelligent, powerful, conversational, believable, dignified and trustworthy.
I take direction well and can bring a wonderful, slight accent to my reads, a trace of an international sound that enhances my performance, especially for scripts that require a worldly, sophisticated touch.
While I first dabbled in performance back in first and second grade in Nairobi Kenya, reciting “Mother Parrot’s Advice to Her Children” by A.K Nabongo to being the headliner in the big to-do 2nd grade theatrical presentation of “How Much is that Doggie in window?”, it wasn't until 2014 that I got a clue and started pursuing voice acting as a bonafide profession.
Since that time, I've grown to understand that my life pursuit in my love for people and stories is a cornerstone of working in voiceovers in numerous genres, whether a commercial only seconds long or an audiobook with hours and hours worth of narration.
I've been fortunate to have the support of Kenyan parents who have always taught and modeled by their own lives what hard work, honesty, compassion and a healthy dose of laughter look like. These are principles that I carry with me as I collaborate on projects with my happy clients!
