A Brief Background of the Hebrew Language

The Hebrew language has a long and storied history, dating as far back as 1200 BC. While the ancient version of this language became extinct in 400 AD, modern day Hebrew is still spoken in parts of the world.

The Hebrew language is native to Israel. Additionally, Hebrew is the official language of the Judaic religion. As of 2016, nine million native Israeli speakers exist worldwide, of which five million live within Israel. Another four million people in Israel speak Hebrew as their second language.

This Afro-Asiatic language has seen many transformations, from its first recording as Biblical Hebrew to the Medieval version of Hebrew and now the modern form.

While Israel is the only country that considers Hebrew to be their official language, Poland also recognizes Hebrew as a minority language in the region.

Hebrew derived its name from Ibrim, which was the term used to refer to the Jewish and Samaritan Israelite people.

A language with such a long life must be treated with care and respect. Our native voice actors have excellent diction and are prepared to deliver the highest quality voice recording to match your vision. Contact us today for a free quote.
